Video Compression

Spicer understands the art and science of video and audio compression, integrating it into the final product. We accept electronic material from our clients in practically every format imaginable. Please follow the guidelines below when submitting material. 

Resolution: 720x540 @ 72 dpi (minimally 640x480).
Adobe Illustrator: All text must be converted to outlines before saving as EPS.
Adobe Photoshop: Maintain separate layers for maximum flexibility. All text layers should be rasterized. 
Image Formats: BMP, TIF, TGA, PSD, EPS, AI, GIF and JPG (use low compression for highest quality).
Video Formats: AVI, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, DV, MiniDV, QuickTime (Mac movies flattened). 720x540, 720x480, 720x486 and 640x480 @ 30 or 29.97 fps.
Audio Formats: WAV, AIF & MP3.
Flash Movies: Resolution 720x540 or 640x 480 @ 30 fps, save as a SWF file (not as a projector).
Text Documents: MS Word, Adobe Acrobat, (no MS Works or QuarkXPress).
PowerPoint: Leave a 15% margin known as Title Safe. Small fonts readable on a computer screen will be illegible on a TV screen. Keep those fonts large.
